Congress Examines Funding Priorities:

Professional Sports Stadiums Versus Public Infrastructure

The Congressional subcommittee on Domestic Policy, of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, held a hearing on October 10, 2007 titled "Professional Sport Stadiums: Do They Divert Public Funds From Critical Public Infrastructure?" This hearing was the Subcommittee's second to examine public subsidies for professional sports stadiums. The first hearing was held in March.
