My name is Pat Senior. I am a member of FUREE and a resident of Brooklyn for over 26 years. I am here today to tell the public that it is WRONG for the city to give away tax payers land for the interest of private development.

We, the families and small business owners are being displaced to be replaced by condominiums and boutiques that we can not afford.

We, the families and small business owner stuck with Brooklyn during the bad and good times. Therefore, we are entitled to developments that serve our interest on our land.

Albee Square development of so call “affordable housing” will be another broken promise that is not affordable to the local residents of downtown Brooklyn. I am for development, but I strongly appose throwing welfare checks, in the form of tax subsidize, to wealthy developers that are not accountable to the public.

We demand that our voice be heard and included; HPD should not subsidize Albee Square plan as it stands. And until then, No justice, No peace.
